About the service

What exactly does Sleek Careers do?

We offer 1:1 career counselling sessions, resume and LinkedIn reviews, interview coaching, and group workshops. The focus is always the same: helping you move from unclear or stuck to a concrete, realistic plan.

We don't place you in jobs or earn referral fees. We help you think better about your situation and act on it.

Is this therapy or coaching?

Neither. Career counselling sits between the two. It's more structured than life coaching and more action-oriented than therapy. We take the emotional reality of career decisions seriously, but our job is to help you make a move — not to process feelings indefinitely.

If therapy would genuinely help alongside this work, we'll say so directly.

Do you work with people outside Calgary?

Yes — all sessions are online. We work with clients across Canada and internationally, though our primary expertise is in the Canadian job market.

Do you work with students?

Yes. Students and recent graduates make up a significant part of our work. Whether you're choosing between programs, facing graduation without a clear direction, or trying to land your first job, these are situations we work with regularly.

Sessions & process

How long is a session?

Standard sessions are 60 minutes. For resume or document reviews, we offer 45-minute focused sessions. Workshops vary by format — see the workshops page for details.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on where you're starting. Some people get what they need in 1–2 sessions. Others work with us over several months as their situation evolves. We don't push packages or recurring bookings — we'll tell you honestly when you have what you need to move forward on your own.

What happens in the first session?

We start by understanding your situation — what's working, what isn't, and what you actually want to change. From there we map your options and agree on a direction. You'll leave with at least 2–3 concrete next steps.

You don't need to prepare a polished presentation. A few honest paragraphs about where you are is enough.

Do you offer a free intro call?

Yes — we offer a free 15-minute call to assess fit before any paid session. If we don't think we can genuinely help you, we'll say so and suggest alternatives.

Pricing & booking

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the service and format. Please reach out or see the services page for current rates. We're a private, fee-based service — not subsidized by government programs or employer benefits.

Can my employer pay for this?

Some employers cover career development expenses through L&D or professional development budgets. We can provide receipts or invoices. Whether your specific employer covers it depends on their policies — we can't confirm that for you.

How do I book?

Start by sending us a message on the contact page. We'll reply with a clear suggestion or a question to understand your situation better. Once it makes sense to book, we'll confirm timing and format before anything is scheduled.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations may be charged at the full session rate. We apply the same standard if we ever need to reschedule on our end.

Newcomers to Canada

I'm new to Canada. Can you help me?

Yes — working with newcomers is a core part of what we do. The Canadian job market has specific norms, formats, and expectations that are rarely explained explicitly. We help you understand them and position your international experience in a way that actually resonates with Canadian employers.

Do you help with credential recognition?

We can advise on how to frame and communicate your credentials effectively, but we're not a credential assessment body. For formal recognition of international credentials, you'll need to contact the relevant regulatory body or assessment service (e.g., WES for general credentials).

Confidentiality & privacy

Is what I share kept confidential?

Yes. Everything shared in sessions is treated as confidential. We don't share your information with employers, third parties, or anyone else without your explicit consent. See our full Privacy & Confidentiality policy for details.

Do you keep notes from sessions?

We keep brief working notes to support continuity between sessions. These are not shared with anyone. You can request a summary or ask that notes not be kept — just let us know.
