How it works

A clear process so you always know what happens next.

No mysterious "coaching magic". Just a transparent, structured journey from "I have no idea what I'm doing" to "I know my next moves for the next 30–90 days".

Discover • Design • Do & iterate

We treat your career like a systems problem, not a personality flaw.

  • We map constraints instead of ignoring them
  • We document your decisions and assumptions
  • We adjust the plan as real life happens

The goal isn't a perfect answer. It's a better, testable next step that fits your reality.

The Sleek Careers journey in 3 phases

Every client goes through the same backbone: Discover, Design, and Do & iterate. The depth and number of sessions shift depending on your situation, but the structure stays consistent.

1

Discover

We gather inputs: your story, interests, values, constraints, and current options. This phase is about understanding, not judging.

2

Design

We narrow possibilities into 1–3 realistic paths, then design an initial 30–90 day career experiment plan.

3

Do & iterate

You test the plan in the real world—applications, conversations, projects—while we refine your strategy and materials.

Session-by-session breakdown

This is a sample flow for a short programme (3–5 sessions). Single sessions follow the same logic but focus on one slice of the journey.

Session 1 — Deep-dive & groundwork

We unpack your story: education, roles, moves, pauses, and the current situation. We also map what you've already tried.

  • Context & constraints
  • Career story audit
  • Initial hypothesis: what might be next?

Session 2 — Options & direction

We compare 2–3 possible directions using your priorities: learning, money, stability, geography, family, visas, energy levels, and more.

  • Path comparison canvas
  • Risk & feasibility check
  • Pick initial target direction(s)

Session 3 — Positioning & story

We translate your background into language those target roles actually use, so hiring managers can see the fit.

  • Resume & LinkedIn strategy
  • Short “about” narrative
  • Interview & networking scripts

Session 4 — Action plan & systems

We break your goals into concrete weekly actions you can realistically maintain—not just “apply to 50 jobs per week”.

  • 90-day roadmap
  • Job search system (tracker)
  • Feedback loops built in

Session 5+ — Iteration & troubleshooting

We analyse what's happening in the real world—responses, interviews, rejections—and update your plan and positioning.

  • Pattern analysis (what's working)
  • Message & strategy tweaks
  • Decision checkpoints

Single-focus sessions

If you don't need the whole arc, we can zoom in on one step: clarity, documents, interviews, or decision-making.

  • One-session diagnostic
  • Targeted recommendations
  • Optional written summary

How we work together in practice

All of the theory means nothing if it doesn't fit your actual life. We keep the format flexible while the structure stays solid.

Session format

Sessions are usually 60 minutes, online, and structured around a clear objective for that call.

  • Online video sessions
  • Guided conversations & exercises
  • Screen-sharing for documents

Between sessions

You get reflection prompts, experiments, or tasks to run in the real world—and we build those around your available time and energy.

  • Practical homework, not busywork
  • Email check-ins for quick questions
  • Templates and trackers as needed

Tools & frameworks

We mix assessments, worksheets, and structured frameworks instead of improvising every time.

  • Career design canvases
  • Skills & values mapping
  • Decision-making frameworks

What you leave with

You're not paying for "a nice chat". You're paying for better decisions, fewer random applications, and a clear sense of what you're doing and why.

A documented career snapshot

A clear picture of where you are now: skills, experience, constraints, and realities. Useful even if you work with someone else later.

Defined target directions

Not just “I should work in tech”. Specific roles or problem spaces that match your story and constraints.

A testable 30–90 day plan

Weekly actions, experiments, and decision checkpoints so you can move forward without burning out.

Questions people ask before working with us

If you're cautious, good. You should be. Here are a few questions that usually show up before someone books a session.

"What if I genuinely have no idea what I want?"

That's normal. We don't start with "what job do you want?" We start with your story, patterns, and constraints, then build from there.

"What if I already know the field, just not the path?"

Then we spend less time in discovery and more on comparing options, positioning you, and designing experiments within that field.

"What if I'm not in Canada yet?"

We can still work together. We'll focus on preparing your story and materials for the Canadian market and planning realistic timelines.

"Do you guarantee a job?"

No. Anyone who does is lying. What we can promise is a more focused search, better positioning, and fewer self-sabotaging decisions.

"How many sessions will I need?"

Many people start with 1–3. Some stay longer for support during transitions. We'll make a recommendation after your first session.

"Can we do evenings or weekends?"

Yes, within reason. We offer flexible hours, especially for people balancing work, school, caregiving, or time zones.
